Get Involved
There are many ways you can get involved at LeConte-Woodmanston.
We always welcome new foundation members.
If you think you would like to join us, please go to our “membership”
page.
Or maybe you can make a financial contribution to assist us in making
our vision of the future a reality. Our “contributions” page will assist
you in that regard. Contributions, of any size, are especially welcome
at the present time.
If you wish, that contribution can also be made “in memory of” or “in
honor of” an individual.
Of course, there are many other ways you can help.
You could become a volunteer. Your time and talents are needed now more
than ever. Opportunities are available for you to assist with gardening,
construction, repairs, clearing trails, leading tours and much more.
If you or someone in your family has something you’ve heard was
originally part of Woodmanston Plantation, we’d sure like to take a look
at it. It was common for old plantations, as they were abandoned after
the Civil War, to be “disassembled” and “recycled.”
We are also part of the Flood Gate Narrative oral history project.
Histories are being gathered from descendants, of those enslaved on the
plantation, through our partnerships with Dorchester Academy and SCAD.
You could also donate one of the plants or camellias we need. If you are
interested in doing that please check our Plant Wish List or Camellia
List.
If you
can volunteer or assist us in any of the areas mentioned, please
contact us.
